My cat is 20 years old and has stopped caring for her nails herself. The nails have become very long and are beginning to curl up into her skin. She would go nuts if I took her to a Pet Salon, but I think she would let me cut them. Can I just use a regular nail clipper? I purchased a peti-cure, which works o.k. for my dog, but not for the cat. Any ideas?Nail care for my Cat?
I would use cat nail clippers, found at most pet stores it will work much better than human ones, here is a link of an example

A little trick that took us a while to learn.... Before you start clipping her nails, take a week or so to just rub her paws, and extend the nails, especially if she is napping. I can usually get all the claws done before my cat wakes up and gets hissy. Be prepared for jerking so you don't cut the quick.
yes you can use human nail clippers, but you may have to angel them a little weird so you can cut them as short as you want them in one ';clip';
