i want to start gettin fake nails but im not sure how to take care of them..are they bad for your nails ? or is it only if you take care of them badly?...i need all the info on fake nails as i can get thanks!Taking care of fake nails?
Sure, they may look pretty cool etc. but they can really damage your nails. Sometimes the glue sticks on too long and won't come off and it really hurts when you pull the nail off because it pulls your real nail and it hurts! I suggest you try them and see how you feel about them...if you like them, go ahead, Beauty hurts!!Taking care of fake nails?
They are not good for your real nails at all. You've obviously never had them done and don't know the process of getting them put on. Well to help you understand how awful they are for your nails here's what they do: They use a sander-type tool and first smooth out the surface of your nail and then they switch to a rougher attachment and literally sand down your nail. And I don't mean length-wise, I'm talking about the top surface of your nail. They do this so the acrylic (or fiberglass or whatever you choose to get) will stick better. From there they sand it down a few more times before you're done. Yeah they look good but aren't good for your nails at all. If you decide you want to take them off, you have to either rip them off (which is extremely painful) or soak them in acetone and THEN rip them off. Both hurt very very badly. After you get all of them off, you're left with these fragile, rigid little fingernails (if you were lucky enough to not have your real nailtip rip off with the acrylic). It takes them longer to grow because of how damaged they are and will look really bad until the entire nail grows out and you cut it off.

How's that for ';all the info you can get';?? haha :) Good luck and choose wisely!! (After all the crap I just talked about fake nails, I look down and see my acrylic nails typing away) haha
horrible they are horrible for your nateral nails i got them and so did my gf and my mom and they screwed all of our nails up now they have bumpy ridges on the nail and the nail bed is weak
actually you don't need to do anything other than going to the manicure every other week

just clean than under the nails with a brush

and put cream on the skin around them

ps fake nails damage ur nails

believe me i know
the last time i checked they werent bad for you. if youre planning on long-ish nails then be sure you dont do anything that might break them or plan on activities in the near future that would break them. also be sure to clean under your real nail and fake nail too cause you dont want to get any infections.
I've had fake nails for about 2 years.. i can't live without them! they actually make you look so much nicer, classier. There's not really any care instructions. Just get a fill every two weeks. Keep them classy too. .not too long.. go for a light pink color..

They aren't bad for you nails. My mom had them since she was 20.
well, no they are not bad for your nails

you don't really need to take care of them, just try not to chip them, and if they fall off and land in something, or if they fall on the floor, etc, get a different one, don't glue the same one back on.

hope this helped
Fake nails can be bad for your real nails, because they ';sand'; over them then apply stuff that doesn't let it breathe. They look great, but personally, my experience with them has been quite annoying, because if they're growing out and you want to take them off, it takes forever to soak them and remove them safely or you've got to go back and get them taken off by the salon. If you have nice, healthy nails, just get the french manicure - with gel over it, that way, it gives you the look, and if you want to change it, regular nail polish remover works. If you're really curious about them, try it if you want, but don't try to rip them off/pick at them, because you could do some real damage to your own nails.
